All the Christmas decorations are put away, and we are slowly returning to our normal routine (which I love) and as a result I’ve been thinking about setting some goals for the new year. Not really resolutions, (do people ever keep those?) but concentrating on areas that need some attention so I can continue to grow. Here is what I came up with…
Stop putting things off. Yes, I know it is January 7 and I haven’t posted in a while.
Danny deserves the best I have to offer.
Take more pictures. The moment I wrote this out the UPS man pulled up with my new camera. No kidding.
One of my favorite pictures I took last year. I would have never taken it if my sister-in-law hadn't asked me take pictures of her kids that day.
Become more flexible both emotionally and physically – my therapist moved away a few years ago and I need to put the time in to find a new one. The older I get the less flexible I am becoming in every way.
My flourless chocolate birthday cake at my birthday dinner. Turning 37 was a piece of cake because in November I realized I had been telling everyone I was 37 all year when I was really 36. NICE
Taking the opportunity to be quiet and think about those issues that keep coming up over and over again is something I have been putting off (see my first goal) and January is the perfect time to reflect over the last year and make some small changes that could result in huge personal growth.
As I start a new year, I am grateful for the opportunity to be in community and relationship with my family and friends. My prayer is that we continue to push each other forward, closer to our creator.
Cheers to another year together doing this thing called life.
